Yeah! After busy preparation to rush for our wedding within an extremely tight schedule of two months, our wedding banquet is a success last Sat …we are very satisfied with everything that day:p Hooray…& celebration❤

After few days of deep sleep, we are finally refreshed & energized to proceed on our Msia short trip on Wednesday morning ---- ☂ Genting—> KL —> Malacca ☂

☆¤º°Genting°º¤☆---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“main attraction” is the cooling weather, cheap hotel rate & casino….

Two days there a bit too long as nonething much to do (esp during day time), so after having meals at Hainan Kitchen & Hou Mei (which we have tried before during our precious trip) at First world hotel building on first day,

we walk further to eateries at Highlands Hotel building for meals on second day, we decided to have dinner at Restoran Good Friends (好友記)

their chinese new year “mini” fountain decoration is quite nice….

hao you ji_2

since there are four of us, more people so can order dishes ….

1) Mango Chicken (香芒酥鸡) : RM$24

2) Hakka dish ~ Fried crispy homemade Tofu (爽口脆皮豆腐) :RM$18

3  )KaiLan (芥兰) fried with Garlic :RM$13.30

4) Tri-Roast Platter (烧腊杂味拼)~ we choose the 3 choices of Roast Pork, Roast duck & Roast chicken) : RM$30

It’s a great dinner & basically all the dishes served are very yummy, all food are finished within a short while,  only left the roast chicken which is abit too hard & dried….. if they can improve on the roast chicken, it will be a perfect dinner from the hand of a good cook….

Lastly order the mixed fruit platter(鲜果杂拼盆):RM$7.30

Total bill: RM$118.45 (after 10% service charge & 5 % GST )

Restoran Good Friends (好友記) has a much grand outlook than Hou mei (好味), but surprising dinner cost about the same as lunch we had at Hou Mei (which dishes are just hawker food such as curry chicken mee, Hor Fun soup etc)…

Pass by saw another “grand-look” restaurant,

 Min Ren restaurant (名人)

it has ancient pots & bird cage decoration outside….

Also bottles of liquid or wines near its entrance…..

The food photos look “bagus” on the restaurant LCD screen & since they are having promotion on its RM$35 set lunch (can use world card point to offset the meal cost), we decided to have lunch here

set lunch cost RM$35 or (RM$16 + 500 World points) per person, they having two choice for

first dish: 腐皮卷 Vs Lamb pie (with fried wanton)

&

3rd dish: KaiLan (芥兰)Vs choy Sum (菜心) with oyster sauce

we try the two choices since four of us…..

the payaya yam soup ( a very fragrant soup, finish whole bowl without leaving any drop!)

lamb stew & 咕鲁肉

food serve here is quite fantastic but portion damn small, every dishes is an enjoyment (except that the lamb pie is quite common taste)

we feel the most impressive dish is the dessert served ~ no fight!

take a close look at the green portion of the dessert

==> It’s actually beancurd in peppermint!!!

The almond sauce mixed with the peppermint is really a “masterpiece”!!!

Total bill: RM$64 + WP2000

After the “sumptuous” lunch, walking back to first world hotel via Genting hotel building passage ……

leaving Genting to head to KL…

Check in at the Prince Hotel two bedroom apartment

The living room ~ sofa & TV

prince_1

Kitchen & dinning table

prince_2

Master bedroom  ~ very spacious, comes with TV

prince_3

a very big bathroom, with bath tub & glass shower room (too wide to be capture by camera )

prince_4

We let in-law have the bigger master bedroom (so happy father-in-law can watch his favourite TV in room) while we took the one smaller, nearer to living room

 prince_5

a smaller bathroom

The hotel location is good as just within walking distance can get to the famous KLCC, quickly  bring in-law around to take photos at the famous twin tower, walking around KLCC shopping mall before having dinner at Madam Kwan’s Restaurant

Food served here is local food cuisine  such as Nasi Lemak, char Kway Teow, curry fish head etc…

Father-in-law having Ipoh Kway Teow in soup ( too late to take photo as hungry FIL has already gobble whole bowl of mee before my camera is ready) RM$12.90

Hubby’s Nasi Lemak RM$14.90 ( with one scoop of rice already eaten by hungry hubby…hee )

mother-in-law’s Char Kway Teow RM$15.40

My Mushroom chicken mee (with chicken floss) RM$13.90

Total bill: RM$73.50

same as Genting’s Hou Mei , food served is quite tasty just feel that price is abit too expensive for Hawker food…

After dinner, we walk back to Pavilion shopping centre just opposite our hotel (think when we came previously during 2007, it’s still under contruction & it’s blocking the whole shopping district at Bukit Bintang & we have to walk a long way to places like Lot10 etc )

This pavilion shopping centre decoration is damn nice ( much more attractive & nicer than KLCC)

Nice fountain that will change colour near its entrance……

Orange….

red……

Pavilian_3

Blue….

Pavilian_2

inside the shopping centre

Pavilian_1

walking through the staircase leads to level one, there are some pushing carts selling CNY stuffs, also a big stage with CNY celebration singing programme performed by some Malaysia Radio FM98.80 DJ

 Pavilian_5

layout & concept quite similar to our Orchard ION,  just that branded boutique such LV is located at the bottom level while smaller, more affordable boutique is located at upper level (just a reverse compare to Orchard ION)

Basement has many food outlets such as Madam’s Kwah’s, Pepper Lunch, Din Tai Fung, Sakae Sushi , Food republic, Toast box, Ichiban Boshi  etc (too busy walking around so no photos taken…hee)

buy egg tarts (two with coffee & rest at original favour) from the John King’s stall as they are having promotion with six pieces at RM$9.50  (for our supper at nite :p)

At around 9pm+, all our legs are simply too aching & tired to walk further so we cross the road to head back to our hotel opposite to rest …..

Try the egg tarts, both coffee & original favours are simply delicious!!!

We plan go Pavilion tomorrow morning for breakfast

Shower in the hotel is damn comfortable & shiok, especially love the “soft” setting (can turn knob at shower head to choose setting desired: massage, normal or soft), hubby try the massage setting, he said abit pain ….

The bed is also very firm & comfortable….after one nite sleep, in-law suggest to stay in hotel to slowly enjoy its facilities as we just staying for a nite, so we have our breakfast with bread bought at KLCC’s cold storage last nite with coffee brewed using hot water boiled at kitchen (using packets of Nescafe 3-in-1 coffee found at the kitchen rack) instead….

haha we all go for one more shiok bathing before checking-out at noon time……

Happy in-laws took some nice photos around the hotel before we proceed to carpark & make our way to next destination: Malacca

☆¤º°Malacca°º¤☆--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reach Malacca quite late due to jam & very hard to find parking lots as damn crowded, mostly are Malaysian cars, just see a few Singapore cars around.

Its already almost 3pm when ready to walk to our favourite Jonker 88 stall, damn packed with people, lucky manage to find a seat quite fast as there is one table with family finishing their food, happily order my favourite Nonka laska (RM$3.50 per bowl) & durian Cendol (RM$2.70 per bowl) , too hungry & busy eating (basically in stage of “龙吞虎咽”liao) so forget to take photos ( even in-law first time trying the laska & cendol also thumb up say “yummy”)

Food sell here is cheap & yummy!

This is our third time to Malacca, first visit is during July 2007, most memorable is the nice pond photo taken at  Puri hotel we stayed, after that come again with gang at late 2008, but quite disappointed as can’t get Puri due to fully booked………this round also too rush for us to drop by again, would like to go in to take a look again if has chances…

That time my hair still so short (see photo below)Me@Malacca_2

As we feel the famous chicken rice ball is not that fantastic, so decided to have Nyonya Peranakan dinner at famous Nancy’s Kitchen instead…….

Nancy’s Kitchen namecard

has map of its location

we go upstair for dinner as first floor dinning table already full,

view via top from staircase, can see its cramp kitchen at left hand corner

another corner is its cashier & tables filled with nyonya snack & Kuih for sale

its pinapple tarts is very famous & yummy but damn expensive at RM$17.50

upstair is aircon , surrounding is just simple old Peranakan house layout…

can see many portraits of lady boss with different people photos hanging around

this round we order

1) nancy’s kitchen signature chicken

2) omelette with mini shrimp

3) a special vegetable with shrimp

4) fried rice

5) Popiah

( when ask for popiah with egg skin, been told only come with normal popiah skin, hmm we did try before during first visit at 2007, think now they only serve normal popiah skin to make the order simple bah, although waiter is still Chinese, can see more Filipino among kitchen helpers & popiah wrapper near entrance ….)

Food overall is still very yummy & tasty at a total bill of around RM$65 ( include four drinks with mixture of  lime juice &  ice lemon tea)

The whole Jonker walk has many shops selling home make pinapple tarts & cookies, during evening time at around 7pm, whole alley is starting to be occupied with mini stall temporary setup (similar to our Pasar Malam) selling small little stuffs such as accessories, clothes, bags, snack & drink…….nearby bar & lounge also start filling with people drinking beer & alcoholic drink, quite happening at nite

Walk around Jonker walk, in laws are busy buying snacks at the famous San Shu Gong (三叔公) shop (think just open as never see it during any previous trips) & mini stalls along the alley. Not too bad as I grab two discount simple blouse while hubby found a nice Bermudas for himself at brand outlet located at one big mega store nearby. Whole car is filled with snacks &  Portuguese egg tarts bought by happy in-laws before we make way back at around 9pm ……almost 2am then reach home, after bath collapsed & sleep…..

Malacca is a great place for yummy food at cheaper price, except for its “super” expensive pineapple tarts which price increases every year, but as it’s quite a small place & weather damn hot & stuffy there, more suitable to stay for just a day or just drop by to enjoy its yummy food & snacks.

Overall a tiring but enjoyable trip with yummy food :p
